
New Jersey sets monthly record with $1.7bn in online sports wagering handle
Division of Gaming Enforcement releases January figures which show online gaming revenue of $183.3m in another strong month for the state

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) has released its January figures which showed online sports wagering handle for the month hit $1.67bn, representing a new monthly record for the Garden State.
The figure eclipsed last January’s $1.35bn, which was a then-record, only to be surpassed by November’s figure of $1.62bn.
There was also growth in both sports wagering revenue and internet gaming win by 136.1% and 19.9%, respectively.
The huge rise in sports wagering revenue saw the figure come in at $170.8m, from $72.3m in January 2023.
Meadowlands Racetrack, which includes FanDuel and Superbook as online licensees, reported that revenue surged 136.9% from $47.7m to $113m.
Resorts Digital, which includes DraftKings, was a long way behind in second place with $40.3m in sports betting revenue, while Borgata, which covers BetMGM, reported revenue of $8m.
Meanwhile, Hard Rock (mainly bet365) posted a 261.3% spike in revenue from $1.3m to $4.8m.
Elsewhere, online casino and poker revenue, reported as internet gaming win, increased 19.9% YOY to $183.3m – the second highest month ever since igaming launched in the state in 2013.
Resorts (DraftKings, PokerStars, ESPN Bet) and Golden Nugget (Golden Nugget Online Casino, FanDuel, BetRivers) led the way in the Garden State with a combined revenue of more than $100m, while BetMGM reported revenue of $42m.
Jackpocket recently launched its online casino offering in New Jersey in partnership with Harrah’s Atlantic City, weeks before it was acquired by DraftKings.
