Yahoo Sports launches BetMGM-powered betting app
New app features its own unique user interface but will redirect users to BetMGM’s app to place bets

Yahoo Sports has launched its BetMGM-powered betting app today in New Jersey to leverage the US’ growing betting industry.
The Yahoo Sports app and desktop site displays odds via its own unique UI but will direct users to the BetMGM app to place bets.
Yahoo partnered with BetMGM-operator Roar Digital in October via a landmark deal that will initially see Yahoo paid for driving traffic to BetMGM.
The agreement is an affiliate model, although Yahoo is branding the product as the Yahoo Sportsbook.
The deal gives BetMGM access to Yahoo Sports’ vast DFS database, which has amassed up to nine billion minutes of user time each year.
It also makes Yahoo Sports the official Digital Media Sports Partner of MGM Resorts, with the companies pledging to deliver “collaborative content experiences and live events” to promote BetMGM.
The launch announcement for the Yahoo Sportsbook said the product would soon become available to fans in other states where sports betting is legal.
Users outside of New Jersey can still play Yahoo’s free-to-play and paid fantasy games.
