XLMedia pens content partnership with Star Tribune in Minnesota
Affiliate to become the exclusive sports betting content provider for the Upper Midwest news organization as AIM-listed company continues to spread in the US

XLMedia has signed a content partnership with the prominent Upper Midwest news organization, Star Tribune Media Company.
The London-listed affiliate will provide the Star Tribune with exclusive sports betting content as part of the new partnership.
The deal marks a significant milestone for XLMedia’s media partnership arm and expands the firm’s reach in Minnesota, with the media firm attracting more than seven million unique digital users per month.
The Gopher State currently does not have legal online sports betting, however, Senator Jeremy Miller is set to introduce the Minnesota Sports Betting Act 2.0 when the legislative session opens on February 12.
Neighboring states such as Ohio and Iowa have regulated sports betting, and XLMedia said the partnership will help the affiliate build more of a presence in those states.
David King, XLMedia CEO, commented: “We are very pleased to partner with Star Tribune, an esteemed and highly respected media organization based in the US Midwest.
“In line with our strategy, this deal positions us well to continue to build on our MPB success and drive revenue in a key region of the US.”
Paul Kasbohm, EVP and chief revenue officer at the Star Tribune, added: “We’re excited to partner with XLMedia to provide our readers with this highly engaging commercial content.
“XLMedia brings tremendous credibility and expertise, allowing us to stay ahead of the curve and offer readers the latest information to make their own informed decisions about this rapidly evolving space.”
This deal adds to XLMedia’s portfolio in the US, as the firm had previously struck in Kentucky with WDRB.com plus WRAL.com and wralsportsfan.com in North Carolina.
