
WynnBET enters West Virginia with igaming and sportsbook launch
Casino resort and sportsbook operator expands to 11th betting state and third for online casino


WynnBET has launched its online sportsbook and online casino app in West Virginia after being awarded a license to operate in the state by the West Virginia Lottery Commission.
WynnBET is live in 11 states in respect of sports betting, and now three states with online casino, with West Virginia joining Michigan and New Jersey.
The operator’s game library includes live dealer blackjack, roulette, video poker, and Keno.
It is understood that new casino users in West Virginia will receive a matched deposit of up to $1,000, with sportsbook users gaining a ‘bet $100, get $100’ bet credit.
“We would like to thank the West Virginia Lottery Commission for working with us throughout our licensure process in the state,” Wynn Sports Interactive President Ian Williams said in a statement confirming the online launch.
“We are thrilled to bring our first-class online casino and sportsbook to players in West Virginia, marking our second state launch this year and the third icasino market to our growing portfolio,” Williams added.
Sports betting has been legal in West Virginia since March 2018, with the state launching its regulated market in December of that year. WynnBet, likewise other operators, would have paid a $100,000 initial license fee and will be subject to an additional $100,000 fee every five years to renew its license.
Sportsbook operators are taxed at a rate of 10% of their respective revenue in the Mountain State.
Online casino gaming became legal in West Virginia in 2019, with operators being issued with interactive gaming operator licenses starting at an initial $250,000 per license and renewable every five years.
Operators are taxed at a rate of 15% of their respective gross gambling revenue (GGR).
