Operator partners with Washington Wizards owner Monumental Sports & Entertainment on Capital One sportsbook
William Hill US has partnered with Ted Leonsis’ entertainment company Monumental Sports & Entertainment to operate the first in-stadium sportsbook at Capital One Arena in Washington DC.
As part of the deal, Hills will become the exclusive betting partner of the NBA, NHL and WNBA teams the Washington Wizards, Capitals, and Mystics, which are also owned by Monument CEO Ted Leonsis.
Leonsis said the partnership would enhance the fan experience through innovative gaming opportunities and unique dining and culinary options.
“Our partnership with William Hill complements our vision of making our arena the premier sports and entertainment destination in Washington, DC,” Leonsis said.
The launch is pending regulatory approval.
The Capital One venue will span two floors and be open on non-event days. Bettors will also be able to use the William Hill mobile sportsbook within the venue.
William Hill US CEO Joe Asher said: “They share our vision and principles for bringing innovative sports betting opportunities to fans in a responsible way.
“This deal sets a new benchmark for how the industry will serve fans and how fans engage in sports,” he said.
