Virtual Gaming World to shutter Global Poker operations in Nevada
Players will lose access to Global Poker social poker brand from April 15, 2025, as operator confirms market exit in email to customers

Virtual Gaming World’s (VGW) Global Poker has informed its customers that it will shutter operations in Nevada from April 15, 2025.
The decision was made as part of the sweepstakes casino operator’s “continual evaluation of our operations in the interests of all our stakeholders.”
In the email sent to customers on December 16, Global Poker announced it was ceasing its operations in three stages.
First, players will be unable to purchase gold coins from January 15 – but they will be able to play using coins or sweeps coins already in their account.
From the following month, customers will lose access to games, as well as mail-in requests for free sweeps coins will no longer be processed from February 15.
Then from April 15, players will no longer be able to make any redemption requests and will lose access to Global Poker.
The operator did add that from the closing date, customer accounts will be inaccessible but personal data associated with the account will be retained “to the extent required to meet our legal obligations.”
VGW leaving Nevada comes two months after the operator ceased operations in Connecticut, eight months after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection over violations of state law.
VGW is also banned from operating in Montana, Idaho, Michigan, and Washington.
