Sportradar seals XFL data partnership
Newly-launched American football league to receive live data and stats for use across multiple platforms
Sports betting data supplier Sportradar has agreed a new media partnership with American football franchise the XFL, which will see it become the league’s official sports data partner.
Under the new agreement, Sportradar will provide fans and partners with access to data, statistics and league information.
The data provider will also provide users a play-by-play data feed specifically designed for use on media outlets such as websites, apps and fantasy sports platforms.
Steve Byrd, head of global strategic partnerships at Sportradar, said the data supplier was delighted to become the league’s official sports data partner.
“There is a big appetite among the media industry for the XFL’s official data. We’re looking forward to delivering this coveted content to our media partners and, ultimately, the fans,” Byrd added.
Jeffrey Pollack, COO and president of the XFL, hailed the deal with Sportradar, claiming that distributed sports data and content would allow the XFL to broaden its reach across the US.
“Through this partnership our fans will have even more access and opportunities to engage with our games, teams, and players,” Pollack added.
The XFL, the American football league owned by Vince McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment, returned last weekend following a 19-year hiatus with four matches being played. It has recently concluded high profile betting-related partnerships with FanDuel, Fox Bet, DraftKings and ESPN.
Sportradar currently has official data partnerships with several US leagues including the NBA, the NFL, the NHL, MLB and NASCAR.
