Beth Bresnahan steps up to newly created role after joining supplier in May 2022 following two stints with the Massachusetts State Lottery

Scientific Games has promoted Beth Bresnahan to become the supplier’s first chief communications and brand officer.
Bresnahan first joined the firm in May 2022 as VP of strategic communications. She will now step into the newly created role in which she will have strategic oversight for Scientific Games’ global comms.
Her first move into the gambling industry in January 2005 was as communications director for the Massachusetts State Lottery, a position she held until August 2007 when she departed for public relations firm, Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications.
Bresnahan rejoined the Massachusetts State Lottery three years later as director of marketing and communications as well as an assistant executive director.
A promotion in February 2014 to executive director soon followed, before once again leaving the industry to become CEO of Essex Media Group in July 2015.
She returned to the lottery sector as executive director at DC Office of Lottery and Gaming in January 2017, staying for three years before exiting the industry again, this time to moving to the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City as communications director.
In her new role for the Massachusetts State Lottery, Bresnahan will continue to manage internal and external communications while adding to her leadership mantle to include advertising, trade shows, and events.
Pat McHugh, Scientific Games CEO, praised Bresnahan’s industry experience when announcing the promotion.
McHugh said: “This promotion will come as no surprise to those who know and have worked with Beth.
“Her strategic vision, extensive experience in brand communications, and deep knowledge of Scientific Games and the lottery industry have earned her the respect and support of our entire company and leadership team.”
Elsewhere, Scientific Games previously promoted company veteran Andrew Jackson to the role of VP of ESG back in January.
