ROGA unveils national college education campaign for responsible gambling
Trade association partners with three expert bodies for multi-faceted program scheduled to launch early 2025

The Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA) is launching a national college education program in early 2025 to deliver a “comprehensive, evidence-based” tool for students.
The campaign will be run in partnership with EPIC Global Solutions, Kindbridge Behavioral Health, and the Responsible Gambling Council.
The scheme will use “digital delivery tools” to provide responsible gaming and financial literacy education to students across campuses in the US.
Those with lived experience of gambling-related harms will also be invited to speak at colleges in an effort to “humanize and destigmatize” the issue.
ROGA said it would also deliver content around the “common myths and perceptions” linked to the sector, as well as further explain odds, probability, and randomness to allow students to be better informed.
Additionally, even college-aged students not enrolled at a university will be able to access the materials, while there will be pilot schemes with select schools to explore the impact of expanded materials and education.
Student-athletes will be provided by supplementary content given their intrinsic link with sports betting in the US.
ROGA was established in March by seven leading US operators, including FanDuel and DraftKings.
Dr. Jennifer Shatley, ROGA executive director, said the initiative would raise awareness of problem gambling consequences, signpost support, and build good financial habits among students.
She explained: “A main goal of ROGA is to promote responsible gaming education and awareness across various audiences, including the college-aged demographic.
“While there are already great programs focused on student-athletes, there are very few resources currently available to the broader university student population.
“To fill that gap, ROGA is proud to be collaborating with leading organizations that bring diverse expertise and experiences in creating responsible gaming and problem gambling awareness programs that resonate with college-aged audiences.”
Teresa Fiore, EPIC Global Solutions VP of partnerships, added: “Having delivered in-person education to over 50,000 NCAA student-athletes and staff, EPIC Global Solutions is delighted to work with ROGA to extend this important message to all college students.
“By combining expert knowledge with personal stories of those who have experienced gambling-related harms, this education is critical for young adults coming of age in a post-PASPA world.”
