Roar Digital releases BetMGM app in West Virginia
Product becomes the third mobile sportsbook on offer in the Mountain State
New Jersey-based Roar Digital – the JV between GVC Holdings and casino giant MGM Resorts – has unleashed its BetMGM sports betting app in West Virginia.
Available on iOS, Android and desktop, BetMGM is powered by in-house technology and offers a wide array of betting options and live streaming of sports.
The launch is through a partnership with The Greenbrier, an exclusive mountain resort near White Sulphur Springs in Greenbrier County. The property also has a deal with Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel Group, including FanDuel’s on-site sportsbook.
Adam Greenblatt, CEO of Roar Digital, said: “We know the passion for sports in West Virginia, which is why we’re launching BetMGM with the very best features and promotions already up and running.”
He added: “West Virginians will notice the care we’ve put into making this a mobile betting experience for die-hard sports fans and novices alike.”
Scott Butera, president of interactive gaming for MGM Resorts, said: “Sports betting represents a significant opportunity for the MGM Resorts-GVC joint venture; we look forward to bringing our best-in-class mobile technology to additional states where mobile gaming is approved.”
With MGM’s launch, West Virginia, which is home to a population of 1.8 million, now has three mobile sports betting apps, the other two from FanDuel and DraftKings.
Delaware North – owner of Mardi Gras and Wheeling Island casinos – was forced to close its BetLucky app in the Mountain State in March 2019 following a dispute with supplier Miomni.
West Virginia became the third state to legalise online sports betting in 2018.
