Rhode Island betting revenues peak in April
Twin River revenues offset flat Tiverton earnings resulting in record $1.9m across the

Rhode Island has reported April betting revenues of $1.9m, up 27% on the previous month across both its Twin River and Tiverton casinos.
Revenues in April were the highest reported in the state since the vertical was launched in November 2018.
Twin River recorded a monthly handle of $13.6m, while Tiverton took $3.2m in bets during the month.
Tiverton Casino revenues were down slightly by 2% to $399,149 in April, but the total was offset by Twin River revenues increasing by 38% to $1.57m.
The state has seen a revenue total of $3.8m in the six months since retail betting was launched.
A bill to introduce mobile betting in the state was passed last month. The Rhode Island lottery, in partnership with Twin River, will operate the only mobile product in the state, with an app expected to launch in November this year.
At the time of filing the bill, Democratic Senate President Dominick Ruggerio said: “Expanding to mobile gaming would provide a convenient option for those wishing to enjoy this form of entertainment, and open up the economic benefits beyond the walls of Twin River.”
Meanwhile, a lawsuit was filed earlier this month claiming sports betting in the state was unconstitutional for not having been put to a public vote.
The case was filed in the Rhode Island Supreme Court against both the state’s Division of Lotteries and Division of Administration.
