Responsible Gambling Affiliate Association announce industry veteran as executive director
Recently-formed trade group appoints former New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement official George Rover to head its mission to safeguard responsible gaming

The Responsible Gambling Affiliate Association (RGAA) – an RG-led industry trade coalition that advocates for reasonable regulation, responsible advertising and consumer protection – has announced it has appointed George Rover as its first executive director.
Comprised of six heavyweight US-facing affiliate companies including Better Collective, Catena Media, Gambling.com Group, Fairplay Sports Media, Spotlight Sports Group, and XL Media, the RGAA’s long-term mission is to safeguard responsible gambling marketing and advertising practices – an objective that Rover will now be responsible for executing in his headline role within the organization.
Speaking on his RGAA appointment, Rover said: “In the spirit of collaboration – whether it be with state regulators, politicians, legislators, or online gambling operators – I look forward to working with key stakeholders and will champion the critical role affiliate companies play in the regulated online gambling ecosystem.
“The formation of the RGAA will provide this essential segment of the industry with an important and constructive voice to promote responsible gambling, prioritizing the best interests of consumers through a unified set of high standards, and guidelines to achieve long-term success.”
Prior to joining the RGAA, Rover had occupied a number of senior positions in the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, the Office of the Attorney General and the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE). During his tenure with the latter, he directed the successful launch of internet gaming in New Jersey while also overseeing some of the NJDGE’s most complex licensing.
After retiring from government service, Rover worked closely with several of the industry’s leading gaming companies to form the Sports Wagering Integrity Monitoring Association (SWIMA), a national non-profit organization aimed at detecting and discouraging fraud and other illegal activities related to betting on sporting events.
Outside of his involvement with the RGAA, Rover will continue to support igaming companies through his private strategic gaming advisory company, Princeton Global Strategies.
RGAA chair, Katie McCord, added the organization were very happy to have Rover on board, stating: “We’re thrilled to welcome Rover to the RGAA family. His unparalleled expertise spanning decades in casino and sports betting law will undoubtedly elevate our organization [and his] contributions to the industry, including spearheading initiatives like SWIMA, showcase his commitment to integrity and innovation.”
