Resorts Digital Gaming CEO to step down following Boyd Interactive acquisition
Ed Andrewes to leave the New Jersey-based firm he helped build into a key local player after more than nine years

Resorts Digital Gaming (RDG) CEO Ed Andrewes is set to leave the company following nine years of service after it was acquired by Boyd Interactive.
The operator acquired RDG, from parent company Resorts Casino, for an undisclosed amount on September 1 to take ownership of both the ResortsCasino.com and MoheganSunCasino.com brands.
Despite being under new management, RDG will remain operational under the licenses held by its former owner, based in New Jersey.
Andrewes confirmed his departure on LinkedIn as he revealed he would step down as CEO at the end of November.
He originally joined the business in June 2015 having held roles in the UK at directorial level with Ladbrokes, Rank Group, 32Red and Victor Chandler (now BetVictor).
He also co-founded Locus Gaming in March 2012 before selling the business in September 2014.
RDG launched its online casino operations in New Jersey in February 2015, with Andrewes playing a key role in turning the brand into a local hero in the state.

The company also rolled out an online sportsbook in February 2019 before shuttering the vertical in 2022.
The exec described his spell with RDG as “one of the most rewarding chapters of my career” in his farewell comments.
Andrewes said: “To all the amazing staff, past and present: thank you. When I first arrived in Atlantic City, online gaming in New Jersey was still in its infancy, and many team members had to learn ‘on the job.’
“It has been truly gratifying to witness so many of you grow, excel, and achieve remarkable things. Stepping down means saying goodbye to the current team, which is one of the toughest parts of this transition.
“I have no doubt that you will continue to thrive under the new leadership. I am not going to mention anyone by name at the risk of forgetting someone but you know who you are and thank you.”
Andrewes also took the opportunity to wish Boyd Interactive success following the acquisition.
He added: “A special thanks goes to Jim Ryan [Pala Interactive CEO] and the team at Boyd Interactive.
“Your professionalism and courtesy throughout this process have been outstanding, and I truly believe that with your resources, market access, and platform, the company is set for even greater success.”
