Record month fuels Pennsylvania sportsbooks to over $100m in November revenue
Keystone State operators notch all-time high $103.3m in GGR on record $935.5m in handle

November proved to be a record-breaking month for Pennsylvania sportsbooks, with operators eclipsing $100m in gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the first time, per new data from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
Monthly GGR amounted to $103.3m, a more than twofold year-on-year (YOY) increase from $49.2m during the same period of 2023 and up 77.6% from October.
Taxable revenue checked in at a record $77.1m after the deduction of $26.2m in promotional credits, eclipsing December 2023’s previous all-time record of $72.5m.
Wagering volume also reached an all-time high as November handle came to $935.5m – just barely beating the previous high-water mark of $934.1m established in November 2023.
That gave way to a statewide hold of 11%, a significant jump from October’s below-average 6.8% figure, a month when results swung bettors’ way across the regulated US market.
Pennsylvania tax coffers benefited greatly, with $26.2m in tax payments getting sent back to the state thanks to the banner month.
Turning to operators, FanDuel maintained its grip atop the market with $373.6m in handle and $45.9m in gross revenue, lending to a strong 12.3% hold. FanDuel issued $9.1m in promotional credits, giving way to $36.8m in taxable revenue.
DraftKings ranked as a distant second to its primary US competitor, generating $27.8m in GGR from $246.2m in handle, which equated to an 11.3% hold. It was also liberal with its bonusing, handing out $6.8m in promo credits.
BetMGM rounded out the podium after accruing $6.9m in GGR on $65.9m in overall wagering volume, while disruptors Fanatics ($4.3m GGR, $42.6m handle) and ESPN Bet ($3.7m GGR, $43.9m handle) continued to show solid results among a competitive second tier of operators.
For the month, online wagers accounted for 94.8% ($886.5m) of total statewide handle and 94.7% ($97.8m) of gross revenue.
Online casino revenue shot up 26.9% to $200.5m, with the vertical driven by gains across all game types.
