Mike Quigley joins fantasy sports operator as its chief marketing officer to spearhead firm’s growth and player engagement

PrizePicks has announced the appointment of Mike Quigley as its new chief marketing officer (CMO) as the daily fantasy sports operator looks to increase player engagement.
Quigley arrives after a nine-and-a-half year stint with Niantic, the augmented reality mobile game developer known for creating Pokémon GO, as its CMO between October 2015 and January 2025.
Prior to that he spent just under three years as Google’s global marketing director, working as a part of the internal startup Niantic Labs, which went on to become Niantic.
In 2010, he spent six months as Jambool’s CMO – the virtual currency firm was acquired by Google that same year – followed by a move to YouTube as director of consumer marketing between August 2010 and January 2013.
While with YouTube, he led the campaigns for several major live-streamed events including NBC Summer Olympics, Coachella, SXSW, and the 2012 Presidential Elections.
From July 2002 to January 2010, Quigley held the role of group VP of global marketing for video game label Electronic Arts.
He also held the positions of group VP of product marketing and VP of marketing for PC games, in what was his second spell with the video game company.
He first joined the firm in July 1996 as product marketing manager. He was then promoted to senior product marketing manager and finally director of product marketing before leaving PC Games in August 1999.
In between those two stays with Electronic Arts, he spent three years as Infospace’s VP of marketing.
Now with PrizePicks, Quigley will oversee brand vision and the operator’s go-to-market strategy.
He will also be tasked with campaign development and marketing efforts across the firm.
Quigley will report to CEO Mike Ybarra, who commented on what the marketing veteran will bring to the organization as it looks to drive growth and player engagement.
Ybarra said: “Mike Quigley is a renowned marketing and gaming executive with tremendous experience in driving player engagement, launching campaign activations, and scaling successful brands.
“His deep expertise in digital marketing, combined with his player-first mindset, makes him the ideal leader to help us further elevate the PrizePicks brand and engage our passionate players.”
On his move to the company, Quigley cited PrizePicks’ innovative gameplay and player engagement as reasons why he is looking forward to working for the company.
Quigley said: “I’m thrilled to join PrizePicks at such an exciting time. I admire their relentless focus on exceeding player expectations and creating experiences that keep players engaged.
