PokerStars kicks off recruitment drive for new Malta office
New purpose-built facility in Spinola Bay area to house up to 350 staff

PokerStars parent company Amaya is recruiting more than 30 new staff to work in its new Malta office, EGR Intel has learned.
The firm, which will rebrand to The Stars Group at the end of August, has moved to a new facility with space for 350 staff in the Spinola Bay as part of its global growth strategy.
The new office houses a variety of services staff, with new roles being recruited for including sportsbook CRM manager, fraud investigator and game integrity analyst.
“The expansion of our Maltese office is a direct result of our growth strategy,” Eric Hollreiser, VP of corporate communications for Amaya Inc. and PokerStars, told EGR Intel.
“We’re pleased to be able to deliver our staff a winning moment with the move into the beautiful, modern new office. With more than 200 open roles across the Group, and more than 30 in Malta alone, we continue to expand across all verticals.”
The firm also recently opened a second office on the Isle of Man to house its expanding team there.
In related news, Amaya CEO Rafi Ashkenazi told reporters last week that the firms’ COO Guy Templer was finalising an agreement with a local partner in India that will see PokerStars go live in the country before the end of the year.
The local partner, who was not named, reportedly already has a local licence meaning PokerStars will be able to offer its product in all but a couple of states.
Amaya has previously estimated the Indian poker market could be worth $80-$150m a year, while Ashkenazi says the new revenues will help offset the expected loss of Australia later this year.
