Pokerstars first to launch poker in Pennsylvania
Operator also rolls out PokerStars Casino in the state, available via the Fox Bet and PokerStars apps

Pennsylvania has launched online poker with PokerStars the first to go live in the state following an initial testing phase yesterday.
The operator’s PokerStars Casino product also went live and is available via the PokerStars and Fox Bet apps on iOS and Android.
Users can access PokerStars’ suite of games and tournaments via its in-house platform.
Fox Bet president Matt Primeaux said: “We’re excited to launch PokerStars as the first and currently the only online poker option available to players in Pennsylvania.
“Including today’s launch of our highly rated casino product, which is now available in the FOX Bet and PokerStars apps, we’re proud to say we’re currently the only online provider offering all three forms of regulated gaming in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” Primeaux said.
The firm first expressed interest in being the first operator for poker in Pennsylvania back in 2017 during its Q3 earnings call.
At the time CFO Brian Kyle said the state could become a significant marketplace for igaming and a potential boost to the firm’s UK poker business if it were to share liquidity with New Jersey.
888 is also poised to launch its own poker client in PA in coming months, US chief Yaniv Sherman recently told EGR .
“We’re going to start with poker and casino initially, but we are working with the PGCE on timelines and testing,” Sherman said.
