PointsBet signs Allen Iverson for New Jersey sportsbook launch
Australian bookmaker aims to go live in November on the Meadowlands’ license

Australian online bookmaker PointsBet has signed NBA legend Allen Iverson as a brand ambassador ahead of its New Jersey launch next month.
Iverson will be featured prominently across all marketing channels at launch, starting with a series of ad spots where “The Answer” answers all of the marketing questions for PointsBet.
The bookmaker aims to differentiate itself in New Jersey through its proprietary spread betting mechanics.
“We’re over-the-moon to work with an athlete of Allen’s caliber,” said PointsBet US CEO Johnny Aitken.
“When people think of AI, they think of a renegade and cultural phenomenon that was known for his flash and style on and off the court. For those reasons, we saw the partnership with Al as a perfect fit to represent the PointsBet brand.
“Our forthcoming commercials show that Allen is ‘The Answer’ for more than just basketball.”
Iverson will also help introduce a free-to-enter $1m NBA Sweepstakes competition that asks fans to predict the top 8 seeds in each conference in the correct order.
“If you’re looking for an emerging, high-tech brand that knows what its doing and is cool, don’t sleep on PointsBet,” said Iverson. “These guys just get it,” he added.
PointsBet aims to go live in New Jersey in November on the Meadowlands’ license, and has a similar licensing deal for New York with Tioga Downs racetrack.
