PointsBet inks betting partnership with La Liga North America
Deal with Spanish top-flight’s US arm will see multilingual insight produced for fans
PointsBet has secured a partnership with La Liga in a move which will see the operator become the official betting partner of the US arm of the Spanish league.
La Liga North America is a joint venture between La Liga and Relevent Sports Group which aims to develop the league’s growth in the US and Canada.
Under the remit of the deal, the pair will work together to provide Spanish and English integrations for sports betting.
Multilingual content will also be featured across La Liga North America’s programming schedule, including the new series ‘PointsBet Predication of the Week’ presented by former Liverpool forward Luis García and former USMNT defender Jimmy Conrad.
In addition to this content, three La Liga ambassadors will be elected to provide personal predictions in both Spanish and English-language content to provide betting fans with expert insight.
Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, said: “The PointsBet team and La Liga North America are strategically aligned in presenting fans with the best, fastest and most engaging experience possible.
“As an operator that’s in the rare position of owning our technology end-to-end, we are able to move fast and innovate unique features for our customers that enhance their betting, such as being the only sportsbook with deep Spanish language functionality across our entire product so that the premium PointsBet quality is never lost in translation.”
This agreement marks PointsBet’s third partnership with a professional sports league following the collaborations with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the fledgling XFL American football league.
It was announced today that La Liga has postponed all fixtures for the next two weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak. The league has informed the Spanish Football Association (RFEF), the National Sports Council (CSD) and the league’s 20 clubs of its decision.
