PointsBet expands golf presence with Troon partnership
Online operator becomes exclusive sports betting partner of leading golf management company

PointsBet has delved deeper into the golf world, striking a wide-ranging partnership with golf management and hospitality giant Troon. The union will see PointsBet become the official and exclusive sports betting partner of Troon.
As part of the first-of-its-kind tie-in, PointsBet will receive category exclusivity across Troon’s array of web, social and print assets for digital-marketing purposes, in addition to sponsoring the Troon App.
The strategic partnership will also allow PointsBet to gain prominent brand visibility at participating Troon-managed courses. The brand placements will take the form of exclusive odds integrations as well as collaborations that will create golf opportunities for PointsBet users at some of Troon’s many US locations.
Hospitality represents another element of the deal, as PointsBet VIP customers will be able to access special events at Troon-managed facilities, including the soon-to-be-announced PointsBet Cup.
“PointsBet is a leader in the online gaming space with innovative technology that helps drive the consumer experience,” said Troon chief development officer Scott Van Newkirk.
“We know many members and guests who enjoy our Troon-managed facilities are passionate about sports and gaming. We’re excited to see our partnership with PointsBet grow as gaming opportunities increase across the country.”
The partnership is the latest in the golf space for PointsBet, which has deals with the PGA Tour (official betting operator) and The Golf Channel, in addition to its integrated partnership with NBC Sports.
“As PointsBet continues to amplify its presence in the game, we were looking to partner with an established operator that shares our corporate values and commitment to customers,” said PointsBet chief commercial officer Eric Foote.
“This partnership with Troon helps take our connection to golfers to the next level, providing us with visibility across Troon’s unmatched portfolio of properties and multimedia platforms.”
Troon, which is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, is the biggest golf management company in the world, with 630 global locations, including nearly 400 in North America.
