PENN Entertainment rolls out Hollywood Casino app in New Jersey
Garden State becomes the third US market to gain access to standalone app after bosses espoused on its benefits during Q4 results last month

PENN Entertainment has rolled out its standalone Hollywood Casino app in New Jersey, taking the product into its third market.
Customers in New Jersey will be able to download the iOS and Android versions of the app, as well as play via desktop.
Hollywood Casino will also still be available to access via the ESPN Bet app, which is how the platform was accessed prior to the standalone app being launched.
The launch in New Jersey comes after the app went live in Michigan in January and made its first appearance in Pennsylvania in December.
Included in PENN’s Q4 2024 report, the operator said that its online casino revenue across all of its brands had risen 61% year on year (YOY).
Additionally, on the performance of the standalone app in Pennsylvania, management said in 10 weeks post-launch, average weekly users had grown by 16% versus six weeks pre-launch.
Average weekly GGR also rose 38% and average weekly NGR was up 35% post-app launch.
Bosses also revealed there had been a 20% leap in slots as a percentage of online casino handle compared to when Hollywood Casino was only available via ESPN Bet.
The New Jersey Hollywood Casino app will feature games from PENN’s in-house studio as well as exclusive content such as Devils Blackjack, an original title leveraging PENN’s partnership with the New Jersey Devils.
Aaron LaBerge, PENN chief technology officer, said: “We’re thrilled to introduce our dedicated, casino-first experience to customers across New Jersey.
“Hollywood Casino delivers a best-in-class experience with an extensive games library, seamless gameplay, and exclusive content from our in-house studio.
“This launch builds on the strong momentum we’ve gained since introducing our enhanced standalone app in December.”
