PENN Entertainment launches standalone Hollywood Casino app in Pennsylvania
Operator plans further state launches in 2025, with app providing players with online slots, table games, and live dealer content independently from ESPN Bet app

PENN Entertainment has launched a separate app for its Hollywood Casino brand in Pennsylvania as the operator looks to ramp up its igaming efforts.
Players in the Keystone State can access the new iOS or Android standalone app independent of the ESPN Bet app, which customers had to navigate through to reach Hollywood Casino previously.
Hollywood Casino will remain available within the ESPN Bet app, with players also able to use existing ESPN Bet login credentials on the standalone app.
Hollywood Casino boasts over 700 icasino games, including online slots, table games, and live dealer content, as well as games from PENN Game Studios.
Customers will also experience a “dedicated ‘Casino Floor’ lobby that allows users to easily find virtual versions of their favorite slot games from PENN’s retail properties.
The app will be fully integrated into PENN’s omnichannel loyalty program, PENN Play. Members will be able to earn and redeem PENN Cash, tier benefits, and personalized services.
Aaron LaBerge, PENN Entertainment chief technology officer, said: “We’re excited to launch Hollywood Casino as a standalone app in Pennsylvania, giving our customers access to their favorite games in a dedicated, casino-first experience.
“With four Hollywood Casino properties in the state, the app leverages our trusted retail brand and creates a seamless connection between our online and retail gaming experiences.
“We look forward to bringing this enhanced Hollywood Casino experience to more icasino markets in early 2025, pending regulatory approvals.”
Following the Pennsylvania launch, PENN said it plans to launch in more jurisdictions in 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
Online casino is currently legal in seven states: Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Connecticut, Delaware, and Rhode Island.
Last month, LaBerge said PENN Entertainment’s account-linking feature, which launched on November 1, was the first step in the deeper integration of the sportsbook and the media brand.
