Northstar Gaming taps Jennifer Barber as new CFO
Longtime finance executive makes transition to regulated gaming space in Ontario

Northstar Gaming has formally tabbed Jennifer Barber as its new chief financial officer as the Toronto-based gaming operator eyes continued growth in the burgeoning Ontario online betting market.
A longtime executive who has occupied multiple CFO roles, Barber brings a wealth of corporate finance experience to Northstar.
Most recently, Barber served as CFO of Torstar Corporation, a prominent Canadian media and data company. At Torstar, she oversaw all financial reporting and management and led the information technology team, while also contributing to corporate strategy and development.
Before that, Barber spent seven years at Hydrogenics Corporation, including one year as CFO of the Nasdaq-listed global hydrogen generators and power systems manufacturer.
Barber is now set to enter the nascent and growing online betting space in Ontario.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Jennifer to NorthStar Gaming. She is a skilled financial leader who brings decades of financial management experience to our growing leadership team,” said NorthStar Gaming CEO and founding partner Michael Moskowitz.
“Jennifer’s wealth of financial management and reporting expertize is tremendously valuable to us as we rapidly scale our operations.”
Northstar, which announced its plans to enter the regulated Ontario gaming market in March 2021, began building its executive team soon thereafter. The rapid buildup culminated with Northstar recently launching its first B2C offering, Northstar Bets, a full online casino and sportsbook powered by Kambi.
The NorthStar Bets sportsbook provides an integrated betting experience whereby users can access real-time news, stats, analysis, and scores in-app, while its online casino product features all of the most popular games.
Ontario has rapidly become one of the most hyper-competitive markets in North America, as over 70 operators are currently in the licensing process with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
