New US-wide self-exclusion program to launch in four states this summer
The National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program, powered by idPair, will go live after being announced in April

A new US-wide self-exclusion service will launch in Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, and Tennessee this August via responsible gambling startup idPair.
The National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP) will go live in the four states to allow bettors to exclude themselves from multiple verticals.
Those verticals include land-based casinos, online sports betting, online casino, online poker, fantasy sports, and/or horseracing.
The NVSEP will not launch as an official, co-signed program, with each respective state exclusion program still live and operational.
IdPair said: “This announcement of the first phase of NVSEP does not imply an official relationship between idPair and the states of Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, and Tennessee, and the listed states still reserve the right to decide if they may formally join NVSEP in an integrated manner.”
Looking ahead, the NVSEP is planning for a “deeper level of integration” which could include direct connection with operators’ player account management (PAM) systems.
The scheme, which was first announced in April, had originally been poised to go live in New England in the summer before further expansion.
Jonathan Aiwazian, idPair CEO, said: “For the first time ever, individuals seeking a wider level of protection can self-exclude from multiple states in a streamlined fashion.
“While today we announce our ability to provide free assistance with self-exclusion in each of these four states, more jurisdictions are on the way, as we accelerate toward our goal of removing barriers for people seeking protection across all gambling jurisdictions and products.”
Underdog invested in idPair via its investment arm GuardDog in March to give the startup capital and access to investor and industry figures.
