New Jersey’s horse racing wagering market to allow fresh ADW platforms
New operators looking to enter New Jersey market must gain approval from NYRA Bets, Darby Development, and the New Jersey Horse Racing Commission

New York Racing Association (NYRA) Bets has been announced as the managing vendor of New Jersey’s online and mobile pari-mutuel account wagering system for horse racing after penning an agreement with Darby Development.
The deal between the two organizations means any account wagering platform looking to enter the New Jersey market will need approval from NYRA Bets, Darby Development, and the New Jersey Horse Racing Commission.
NYRA Bets, which is currently available in 36 states and can be downloaded on both iOS and Android, will work with online and mobile operators to establish a launch date later this year, pending approval from the New Jersey Racing Commission.
New Jersey-based customers will soon be able to choose from several account wagering platforms, with Darby Development chair and CEO Dennis Drazin noting the deal is part of an ongoing effort to make things easier for fans.
Currently, 4NJBets, operated by FanDuel-owned TVG, operates in the Garden State alongside NYRA Bets, the advance deposit wagering platform for the NYRA.
Pending the approval of the New Jersey Racing Commission, NYRA Bets will coordinate with operators to establish a launch date later this year.
Drazin said: “This is a win for the patrons in New Jersey, allowing them to have choices for the first time as to which site they prefer to wager with.
“It’s another step in our ongoing effort to make the racing experience in New Jersey as fan-friendly as we possibly can.”
Tony Allevato, NYRA Bets president, added: “We are pleased to usher in a new era for horse players in New Jersey.
“As the sports betting market continues its rapid evolution, the expansion of NYRA Bets into New Jersey will benefit consumers by increasing competition. It’s a win for New Jersey, for horse racing, and for NYRA Bets.”
Earlier this week, NYRA settled its dispute with FanDuel and signed a new contract which will allow the continuation of pari-mutuel wagering and live video content to be shown on TVG/FanDuel platforms.
Acting on behalf of New Jersey’s Sports and Exposition Authority, Darby Development is the operator of Monmouth Park.
