NASCAR to soft-launch betting product in September
League plans to initially offer up to nine in-play markets including stage winners, most laps led and driver and group matchups

NASCAR is planning to launch a trial run of its betting product in September, offering up to nine in-play markets initially.
“We’re looking at things like stage winners, most laps led, lead changes, driver matchups and group matchups,” managing director of gaming at NASCAR Scott Warfield told EGR.
Warfield said the Genius Sports-powered product would be rolled out in phases, adding more markets and launching the final product in February 2020 for the NASCAR Daytona 500 race.

“The list is almost limitless. What we want to do with Genius is roll this out in a way that’s smart and efficient and isn’t overly complex out the gate.”
Although the offering will be directed at US NASCAR fans initially, Warfield is keen to expand globally to increase player engagement in all markets.
“We’re thinking about how this product can turn our fans into evangelists of the betting products so they go out and tell their cousins and friends overseas,” he said.
