NASCAR rolls out first iteration of betting product to handful of operators
First phase includes markets on race winner and stage winner with more to come in a few weeks

NASCAR has launched the first phase of its Genius Sports-powered in-race betting product via a handful of sportsbooks, including New York’s Resorts World Catskills, Q Casino in Iowa and Pearl River in Mississippi.
The first iteration of the three-part roll-out offers players the opportunity to bet on race winner and stage winner during upcoming races.
MD for gaming at NASCAR Scott Warfield told EGR North America: “The idea was to get the two most popular bet types in our sport up and running and then add on from there.”
He said that further markets would be launched in coming weeks, likely around the G2E industry conference in Las Vegas in October.
“For the full comprehensive offering and phase three, we’re targeting February 2020 which is the start of our new season and the Daytona 500 which is one of the biggest races in the world,” Warfield said.
The first operators to roll-out the product are built on the IGT betting platform, which Betgenius is integrated into.
Warfield said the league would look to market the product once it launches fully and will consider how its operator partners can best promote it to consumers.
“We’re trying to attack this in a smart and methodical way and with the feedback of the various operators that have been doing this for a very long time,” Warfield said
“I think our sport lands itself really nicely to this kind of in-play evolution.”
