Mohegan promotes from within for interim COO
Joseph J. Hasson drafted in to replace Jody Madigan who is set to leave the tribal operator after almost three years

Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment has named Joseph J. Hasson as the group’s interim COO following Jody Madigan’s resignation.
Hasson will replace Madigan, whose resignation is effective from August 1, with the exec taking a leave of absence pending the departure.
He will serve as interim COO while retaining his current position as GM of Mohegan Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
Mohegan said Hasson was the “obvious choice” for the role given his previous high level of experience in the sector.
Hasson previously served as COO of Station Casinos and Red Rock Resorts, while he also counts spells with Harrah’s and Graton Resort and Casino on his resume.
The new interim COO will report directly into Mohegan CEO and president Ray Pineault.
Madigan will depart the operator having served as COO since August 2021.
The exec’s departure marks the latest shift in Mohegan’s C-suite after Carol Anderson stepped down as CFO in March, having announced her decision to leave last October.
She will be replaced by former Citibank head Ari Glazer in May.
Touching on Hasson’s appointment, Pineault said: “Joseph J. Hasson’s deep understanding of the gaming and hospitality industry makes him exceptionally qualified to maintain our high service and operational excellence standards.
“We are confident that Joe’s extensive experience and proven leadership will ensure continuity in our operations and guest experience,” he added.
