Mohegan promotes former PENN exec to chief strategy officer
Industry veteran Nelson Parker takes C-suite position after two years working for the casino operator

Mohegan has promoted Nelson Parker to the role of chief strategy officer after two years with the company.
Parker assumes the role after serving as Mohegan’s senior vice-president of strategic development, a position he held since joining the company in March 2022.
He has amassed almost two decades in the igaming industry, starting with a two-year stint as corporate director of development at Argosy Gaming.
Parker then worked for Foxwoods Casino as vice-president of development for five years until 2010, before moving to Hard Rock International where he served as vice-president of hotel and casino development.
After seven years at Hard Rock International, Parker moved to Penn National Gaming (now PENN Entertainment) in 2017 to take on the role of senior vice-president of corporate development.
Prior to joining Mohegan, he worked as managing director at investment firm Driftwood Capital from 2019 to 2022.
Speaking about his promotion at Mohegan, Parker said: “I am honored to be a part of Mohegan’s executive leadership team and contribute to the company’s dynamic growth and strategic vision.
“Leveraging my experience in the gaming and hospitality sectors, I look forward to identifying new opportunities and driving initiatives that will enhance our offerings and expand our global footprint.”
Parker’s appointment represents Mohegan’s second internal promotion to a C-suite position this year, after Joseph J. Hasson was named interim COO back in April 2024 following Jody Madigan’s resignation.
Elsewhere, Mohegan was named in the EGR US Power Rankings in April, slipping one place to finish in 18th.
