Michigan regulator approves 15 operator and supplier licenses
Operators will be able to launch apps ahead of state’s official launch, although no wagers will be placed until January

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has approved 15 online gaming and betting licenses ahead of the state’s launch in January.
Among the recipients is DraftKings, William Hill, BetMGM, Churchill Downs’ TwinSpires brand, Golden Nugget, Parx Interactive, Penn National Gaming, PointsBet, Rush Street Interactive, Fox Bet, and Wynn Sports.
Suppliers GAN, Kambi, and Scientific Games-owned OpenBet also received provisional licenses to supply gaming and betting in the state.
Before the launch, the MGCB said platform providers must complete additional regulatory requirements including independent testing of platforms and games.
Operators and suppliers will be allowed to launch applications before the official launch of betting and gaming in the state so consumers in the state can create accounts and become accustomed to products, but wagers cannot be placed.
Operators began securing market-access deals to enter Michigan at the beginning of the year. Since then, legislators and regulators have fast-tracked the licensing process to set the market live as quickly as possible.
