Low6 secures strategic investment from the NHL
Free-to-play games firm enters into new partnership with hockey league to provide F2P content

Low6 has secured a strategic investment from the National Hockey League (NHL) as part of a new major partnership.
While details of the investment have been kept under wraps, the firm has also been appointed as the official free-to-play gaming provider of the NHL, with a series of games being launched to drive fan engagement.
The first of these to launch was NHL PrePlay, which sees fans answer a set of predictive outcome-based questions throughout each game day of the NHL season for a chance to win C$100,000, as well as NHL shop gift cards and weekly ticket giveaways.
NHL PrePlay was snapped up by Canadian operator Bet99, with the company’s CEO, Jared Beber, praising the product.
Beber said: “Designed to support our focus on education within the gaming space, the game offers opportunities for players to explore the space and become more knowledgeable without making real-money wagers.
“Not only is the NHL PrePlay program innovative and a great access point for new and potential bettors, but the educational aspect also fits well with our focus on responsible gaming.”
Low6 is also set to launch a specific post-season Stanley Cup game to add to its significant portfolio of NHL content.
Jamie Mitchell, Low6 CEO, said: “We are thrilled that Low6 has been selected as the free-to-lay games provider for the NHL.
“Over the next two years, we will be providing highly innovative games, actionable data and a whole heap of fun for users. We look forward to working with the NHL and their commercial partners in activating revenue throughout our gamification suite.”
