Sharp Alpha adds VP from Lance Armstrong's Next Ventures
New York-based VC adds to its executive team following May’s $25m oversubscribed funding round

Sharp Alpha Advisors has appointed Jordan Pascasio as the company’s new principal, joining from the Lance Armstrong’s VC fund Next Ventures.
Pascasio served as vice-president at Next Ventures from August 2022, after initially joining the firm as an investor 12 months prior.
Prior to his stint at Next Ventures, Pascasio founded data platform TRNDS Sports, which was eventually acquired by sports technology company Fansure.
The addition of Pascasio to the team comes after Sharp Alpha Advisors completed an oversubscribed $25m VC fund last month.
The new fund will see the firm invest in early-stage sports, gaming, and entertainment businesses, with plans to invest between $1m and $2m per investment opportunity.
Speaking to EGR North America, Sharp Alpha Advisors MD Lloyd Danzig said Pascasio’s experience made him the “perfect person” to join the VC.
He said: “Jordan’s combined background of investment banking, venture capital, and operator experience make him the perfect person to join us as our firm hits its inflection point.
“I had the privilege of advising Jordan while he built TRNDS Sports and have watched from afar with admiration as he helped build out Next Ventures for the last three years.
“We are thrilled for Sharp Alpha to step up its game by bringing him on board,” he added.
Speaking about his appointment, Pascasio added: “We see competitive entertainment as a powerful lever for sports, media, and entertainment rights holders to drive interactivity and, crucially, forge a sense of purpose and connection amongst digitally-native consumers.
“Lloyd has meticulously built Sharp Alpha’s investing practice on this anthropological foundation and I couldn’t be more thrilled to join the team.”
