IC360 and IXUP to create Ontario’s centralized self-exclusion system
North America’s first-of-its-kind system will allow players to self-exclude from all regulated sites in the province

Integrity Compliance 360 (IC360) and IXUP have been selected to develop Ontario’s first centralized self-exclusion system for regulated igaming sites.
The pair, along with the province’s regulator iGaming Ontario, will begin work immediately to introduce North America’s first centralized self-exclusion scheme.
Ontario’s system will integrate with all regulated igaming operators in the region and will provide customers aged 19 and over with access to create and manage their profiles.
The scheme will also implement identity verification, registration, renewal, and reinstatement processes as part of the register’s development.
Each regulated igaming site in Ontario is currently required to offer a self-exclusion scheme, while the new centralized system will block individuals from accessing all licensed sites in the province.
IC360, IXUP and igaming Ontario will work with existing licensed operators, as well as the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), to develop the system.
IXUP designed, delivered and operates Australia’s BetStop national self-exclusion register while IC360 works across multiple compliance pillars including geolocation and integrity monitoring.
In November 2023, iGaming Ontario announced it would issue request for proposals in early 2024 to develop the self-exclusion programme.
Martha Otton, iGaming Ontario executive director, highlighted the duo’s success with previous self-exclusion systems as a core reason behind handing the pair the brief.
She said: “We look forward to working with IC360, IXUP, OLG and our operators to develop a centralized self-exclusion program for Ontario’s igaming players.
“With IC360’s tech-first expertise in betting integrity through ProhiBet and IXUP’s demonstrated success with BetStop in Australia, we’re confident they will help us build a robust self-exclusion system for Ontarians who decide to take a short- or long-term break from gambling.”
Al Watson, IXUP CEO, said it was a “a significant moment for responsible gambling in North America,” while OLG CEO Duncan Hannay reiterated the organization’s commitment to responsible gaming.
He added: “Player health is a cornerstone of OLG’s business. We are committed to ongoing improvements to responsible gambling efforts so that our industry can offer a safer, more enjoyable experience for all players in Ontario.”
Ontario recently released its Q1 financial report which showed handle spike 31% year over year to C$18.4bn.
