Huddle: Player props dominated SGP mix during NFL playoffs
Data shows 71% of same game parlays comprised individual player performance markets, with two-leg parlays the most common among multi-leg wagers

Huddle has reported player props made up the significant share of same game parlay (SGP) legs during the NFL playoffs, with 71%.
In a blog post released on January 28, Huddle lifted the lid on key trends from the NFL post-season, with Super Bowl LIX now set for a 2023 rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
According to the supplier, player props dominated SGPs placed with its operator partners, which Huddle said “aligns with broader industry trends where player-centric bets […] are gaining traction due to their engagement potential.”
In comparison, 28% of SGPs included core and derivatives markets, comprising spreads, totals, and moneylines.
Huddle added: “While still significant, this category trails player props, suggesting that bettors prefer micro-level action over traditional outcomes.”
During the playoffs, Huddle noted the percentage of live bets placed via SGPs reached 12.2%, with the firm stating this reflected the “growing interest in real-time, customizable betting experiences.”
In terms of SGP size distribution, Huddle added most wagers consisted of two to four legs at a combined 47%.
Two-leg SGPs were the most common at 17%, with three- and four-leg bets being joint-second with 15%.
Huddle detailed that as more legs were added to the SGP, concurrently the commonality declined.
Five-leg bets amounted to 11%, six-leg SGPs stood at 10%, and seven- and eight-leg bets came in at 8% and 7%, respectively.
Finally, nine- and 10-leg bets took joint-last place at 5%. Huddle said mid-single digits still represented “significant volume”.
With regard to popular SGP markets during the playoffs, ‘anytime touchdown scorer’ was ranked first, with Huddle putting this down to “its high excitement factor and correlation with other player props.”
In fact, six of the seven most popular SGP markets were play props, with the result (second) the only non-prop market in the list.
Over/under on player receiving yards took third place, following by over/under markets for rushing yards, passing yards, receptions, and passing touchdowns.
Huddle added: “Six of the top seven most combined markets in SGPs are player-focused, reinforcing the trend that bettors are more engaged with individual performances than team-based bets.”
