Michigan expansion expected to help the firm bring in $122m in net revenue by 2021 as it plots igaming and betting app launch

Golden Nugget has partnered with the Keweenaw Bay Indian tribe to gain access to online gaming and betting in Michigan.
The operator, which is in the process of going public via a reverse merger with special purpose acquisition company Landcadia II, will launch its casino and sportsbook apps in the state once regulations are finalized.
The Keweenaw Bay Indian tribe operates Ojibwa Casinos in Baraga and Marquette, Michigan.
Golden Nugget president Thomas Winter said: “Players in Michigan will be able to appreciate our award-winning product offering and exceptional customer service from a nationally recognized and trusted brand.”
Chris Swartz, Keweenaw Bay Indian community president, said: “We are excited to partner with Golden Nugget to bring online casino and sports betting to the state of Michigan.
“Working with a strong brand will be a perfect complement to our brand-new casino in Marquette as well as our casino in Baraga,” Swartz added.
Golden Nugget expects to lose $15m in Pennsylvania and $13m in Michigan in its first two years of launch, excluding market-access costs.
However, the operator estimates it could bring $122m of net revenue in by 2021 after expanding into Michigan and Pennsylvania.
