Lacrosse League enters betting fray with Genius Sports deal
London-headquartered firm to provide data and integrity services as PLL offers betting for first time
Genius Sports has sealed an exclusive data and integrity deal with the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) ahead of the competition’s first foray into sports betting.
Ahead of its return in July, the PLL is looking to enhance its fan experience and has tapped Genius Sports to provide accurate and reliable data for its sports betting venture.
The partnership will provide domestic US and global sportsbooks with new content during the continued sports shutdown due to the coronavirus outbreak.
As well as partnering with Genius Sports, the PLL has hired two high-profile industry figures as advisors.
Sarah Slane, former SVP of public affairs for the American Gaming Association (AGA), and A.G. Burnett, former Nevada Gaming Control Board chair, will lend their expertise and support to the fledgling sports league.
Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports Group, said: “Being selected by the PLL to launch their live wagering offer is testament to the quality and breadth of Genius Sports Group’s sports technology solutions.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with such an innovative and forward-thinking league, representing one of America’s most popular and respected sports,” he added.
Mike Rabil, PLL co-founder and CEO, commented: “The Genius Sports team has a proven track record of success in working with leagues to launch sports betting platforms.
“Our partnership will offer services that span integrity education services, data collection and distribution as we work with state regulators and authorised gaming operators to cover the PLL,” he concluded.
