Gaming Realms secures Michigan gaming license
London-listed supplier set to enter the Great Lake State as it continues US charge
Slingo supplier Gaming Realms has been granted a provisional igaming license by the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) as it looks to expand its presence in the US market.
The license will allow the London-listed firm to provide Michigan-licensed operators with its Slingo content, once igaming is approved to go live by the MGCB.
In December, Gaming Realms indicated its intention to expand in the US, with both Michigan and Pennsylvania earmarked as potential markets, in the firm’s full-year trading update.
At the time, Peel Hunt analyst Ivor Jones said: “We believe that the US will have continued to grow in importance through the current year. Launch in Pennsylvania and Michigan is expected in H1 21 and market-leading commercial partners are already lined up.”
Michael Buckley, Gaming Realms chair, said the supplier had already secured several agreements with Michigan-licensed operators after being granted the provisional license.
Buckley said: “We are delighted to have obtained our provisional igaming license in Michigan, which presents a larger player market than New Jersey, where the group operates at present.
“We already have a number of deals signed with operators licensed in Michigan and we are confident that it will be a strong market for us, given the awareness of Slingo as a successful gaming brand. We look forward to being amongst those helping to launch its new igaming market,” he added.
