Former Betfred US COO launches consultancy firm

Bryan Bennett has launched consultancy firm NorthCo Strategy to assist startups in sports betting, igaming, and the sports tech industry.

Bennett departed Betfred US as its COO back in September 2023, after initially joining the operator in October 2019.

Following a three-month break from the sector, the industry veteran has returned with his own advisory firm.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Bennett explained that the company will help with strategic planning as well as assist in raising capital for startups in several industries including sports betting and igaming.

He said: “I’m not one to sit around, so while I considered a couple of exciting full-time roles, I formally made the decision in November to do my own thing for a bit.

“What does that mean? Well, for starters I’ve set up my own consulting firm to help various companies and startups in the sports betting, igaming, and sports tech industries with everything from strategic planning to raising capital to business and corporate development.

“NorthCo Strategy is officially open for business should you or someone you know need short or long-term consulting help,” Bennett added.

Bennett also announced he has become an adviser to several startups including sports betting AI and analytics firm FX1 Sports, B2B sports betting software provider Wager Games, and social betting platform Kutt.

Prior to joining Betfred US, Bennett spent time with various US firms including American Gaming Systems from June 2015 to June 2019, where he held the roles of vice-president of marketing and then senior vice-president.

He also spent just under three-and-a-half years at Kabam from September 2008 to December 2011, first as senior director of product and marketing before moving on to be studio general manager.
