FanDuel reigns in March madness with New Jersey revenues of $17.6m

Latest DGE figures reveal sports betting revenues up a record 149% in March

FanDuel’s online sportsbook reigned in New Jersey’s March numbers with its licensor, the Meadowlands racetrack, reporting $17.6m in betting revenues for the month.

That figure also included a “sharply growing” contribution from pointsBet, according to the operator.

DraftKings followed with Resorts Digital making $7.3m in sports betting revenues.

Jack Andrews, a prominent New Jersey professional bettor, and spokesperson for PointsBet, suggested FanDuel had taken over the lead in the market from DraftKings thanks to its willingness to take bigger bets from customers.

Overall sports wagering revenue was up 149% on the previous month when overall revenues were $12.7m in the Garden State.

Elsewhere the New Jersey regulator’s (DGE) monthly figures revealed online gaming revenues were up 53% on the previous year and 23% month-on-month.

Overall gaming revenues in the state reached $39.1m, with Golden Nugget online gaming win leading the charge at $14.2m.

Resorts Digital followed reporting $8.5m in online gaming revenues, thanks in part to the explosive growth of the DraftKings’ online casino offer.
