FanDuel launches new companion app ‘Scout’
New product, powered by Numberfire, offers users a personalized stream of player news
FanDuel has launched a new companion app designed to give players a stream of updates and insights on the members of their fantasy roster.
Scout was officially launched Thursday and gives users personalized player news based on their fantasy lineups.
Alerts might include lineup changes and weather delays, while the app also helps users to pick their team in the first place using a variety of filters such as park factors or implied team total.
The stats and alerts will be powered by Numberfire, the sports analytics company acquired by FanDuel back in 2015.
“We look at Scout as the next step in the evolving fantasy sports landscape,” said Nigel Eccles, CEO of FanDuel.
“Everything about the Scout experience is personalized, from a tailored newsfeed to alert options, helping users make the most informed fantasy decisions throughout the season.”
The app, which requires a FanDuel account to log into, is available in app stores now.
The launch comes hot on the heels of FanDuel’s new Friends Mode “Championship” leagues, which allow users to organize season-long contests but using the salary cap style DFS scoring.
