FanDuel lands first-ever MLS partnership
Flutter-owned brand inks exclusive sports betting partnership with Washington-based DC United
FanDuel has put pen to paper on a multi-year partnership with Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise DC United to become the club’s exclusive sports betting partner.
Under the remit of the agreement, FanDuel plans to open a retail sportsbook at the club’s Audi Field home stadium in 2021, dependent on regulatory and licensing requirements in the state.
The sportsbook will be open 365 days a year and feature both self-service betting terminals and betting windows, where customers can bet on all major US sports.
The deal marks the first partnership with an MLS side for the Flutter Entertainment-owned brand.
Matt King, FanDuel CEO, said: “As we continue to expand our nationwide footprint, joining forces with one of the MLS’ most iconic clubs allows us to bring America’s number one sportsbook to the nation’s capital.
“We’re partnering with DC United to elevate the fan experience at Audi Field and bring the DMV area an in-person sports gaming experience other parts of the US have come to know and love from FanDuel,” he added.
Earlier this year, Caesars Entertainment signed an agreement to become DC United’s first-ever sleeve sponsor.
