FanDuel extends GAN platform deal to Pennsylvania and West Virginia

Online casino and sports betting partnership extended to cover nearly 15 million new potential customers

FanDuel has extended its platform provision deal with GAN to Pennsylvania and West Virginia, encompassing nearly 15 million new potential customers.

GAN, which currently provides the casino platform and sports betting back-end for FanDuel Group in New Jersey, will extend both services to the new states.

GAN said the deal would allow for rapid deployment in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

As part of the contract expansion FanDuel also agreed to license GAN’s US patent which allows operators to link land-based rewards schemes with online sites and offer loyalty points for online pay.

The expanded deal runs for five years from 2019 to 2024.

GAN CEO Dermot Smurfit said the deal showed that “effective and compliant platforms” were a “premium component of the supply chain rather than a commodity”.

“GAN is therefore very well placed to capitalize on the growth in US online gambling markets in terms of new operator clients, new states and underlying growth momentum.”

FanDuel was the second largest online betting operator in New Jersey in November.

GAN shares were up 14% on Thursday morning.
