Fanatics Sportsbook launches in West Virginia as part of PointsBet US takeover
As part of the launch, the operator is piloting its new online casino embedded in the sportsbook app

Fanatics Betting and Gaming has launched its online sportsbook in West Virginia.
As part of the launch, Fanatics is piloting its new online casino, which will be embedded in the operator’s sportsbook app.
The newly designed casino product features a range of classic casino games such as roulette, slots, and blackjack.
This launch forms part of the migration process following Fanatics’ acquisition of PointsBets’ US operations in August 2023. Players with PointsBets accounts in West Virginia will see their usernames, passwords, account balances, reward points, and responsible gambling settings automatically moved to the Fanatics sportsbook.
Players who were PointsBet US users in the state will need to download the Fanatics app but will be able to log in as they would previously. Any prior open bets and account balances will be available in the Fanatics app.
This migration is part of a wider initiative after the operator agreed to a $225m deal to acquire PointsBets’ US operations in the Mountain State. This was followed up in October with a further deal to takeover PointsBet US in New York and Wyoming.
Fanatics were approved in September to take over PointsBet’s operations in eight states, including West Virginia. The other states were New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, and Virginia.
The migrations in the remaining states will occur once Fanatics secures approval in each location. PoinsBet has said that subsequent completions are going as planned.
PointsBet US will continue to operate in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, and Ohio until Fanatics is approved in those states.
