Fanatics continues PointsBet transition with Virginia sportsbook launch
Operator expands to seventh US state, debuting curated betting interface and Genius NFL streaming content
Fanatics Betting and Gaming (FBG) has confirmed the launch of its online sportsbook in Virginia, replacing prior licensee PointsBet.
Fanatics acquired PointsBet USA in September and has been on a program of transferring its licenses and migrating customer accounts across a number of US states, including Virginia.
Other states where a similar process has taken place include Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and West Virginia. As part of this, FBG representatives have been holding meetings with state regulatory entities.
Virginia-based customers who used the PointsBet app will be able to use the same email address and password combination to access their account once they have downloaded the Fanatics sportsbook app.
Account balances, rewards, and responsible gambling settings will be automatically migrated to the Fanatics Sportsbook.
Fanatics has confirmed the debut of a new ‘discover’ page, which aims to deliver a more personalized experience for bettors by showcasing marquee games, trending bets, promotional offers, and rewards.
Each version of the discover page is tailored to a specific customer, complete with their favorite teams, sports, and markets. FBG has also confirmed that its Virginia sportsbook offering will feature BetVision live streaming technology, recently confirmed in a partnership with Genius Sports.
To commemorate the launch, FBG has offered bettors 5% back in ‘FanCash’, funds which can be used to obtain team merchandise during what the firm has labeled a seven-day ‘Rewards Surge’.
The Fanatics Sportsbook is live in Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia, where last week Fanatics also launched its online casino.
Elsewhere, bet365 confirmed the launch of its sportsbook offering in Louisiana, with the Pelican State marking the operator’s seventh US market, joining Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky, New Jersey, and Ohio.
“Celebrated for its passionate culture and festive spirit, we are thrilled to bring bet365 to Louisiana,” a bet365 spokesperson said.
“Now eligible customers from Shreveport to the Big Easy can enjoy our renowned products like amazing Bet Boosts, the fastest In-Game experience and unique Same Game Parlays,” they added.
