Exclusive: PGA Tour to hire first gaming director
Ideal candidate will have worked for betting operator or data distributor, according to a job spec seen by EGR

The PGA Tour is hiring a director of gaming to develop and execute the Tour’s strategy in the betting industry, EGR can reveal.
According to a job description being circulated by headhunters, seen by EGR, the Tour is looking for a candidate with “deep experience in the gaming industry”, ideally having worked for a sports betting operator, daily fantasy company or sports data distributor.
The Tour does not currently have a gaming-specific executive, with betting efforts currently overseen by SVP for business development Norb Gambuzza.
According to the job spec, the new gaming director will manage commercial relationships with IMG ARENA, the Tour’s data partner, as well as other gaming operators, data distributors, and key groups in the industry.
IMG is currently shopping the official data feed and pricing to operators, although no partners have yet been announced.
The product is expected to be live for customers in H1 2020.
The gaming director will also serve as an internal and external expert on gaming-related matters and act as a “thought partner” for the PGA Tour to other major US leagues.
They will also oversee the distribution of content for gaming purposes and the integration of gaming products into PGA Tour platforms in conjunction with media partners.
The Tour did not respond to an EGR request for comment.
