Ex-DraftKings head joins Underdog as VP of VIP
Dillon Borgida takes on first new frontline operator role since leaving DraftKings in June 2023

Underdog has appointed former DraftKings head of VIP acquisition Dillon Borgida as its new VP of VIP.
Borgida joined the industry in July 2014, arriving at FanDuel as part of its customer support representatives for daily fantasy sports (DFS).
After a year, he became VIP account manager where he helped create a VIP strategy for the business in the years prior to the fall of PASPA.
Moving to William Hill as head of VIP for digital in September 2018, Borgida was the operator’s first VIP division hire for its sports betting operations.
He then shifted over to DraftKings in September 2019, joining the Boston-based giant as a VIP new business executive.
In this role, Borgida started the firm’s VIP growth and acquisition department.
He was then promoted to head of VIP acquisition in January 2022 where he helped drive “billions in net-new gaming handle.”
Since founding consultancy company, betonu, in September 2023, Borgida has now returned to the frontline of the gambling industry with his move to Underdog.
Explaining his latest move, Borgida wrote on LinkedIn: “I’ve started full time as a vice president at Underdog Fantasy overseeing all VIP operations as the company continues to build fantasy games and expand its sportsbook.
“My primary role at Underdog will be running our VIP department. There are challenges that come with that, but even more opportunities to do something exciting and different.
“We’re just getting started, but hoping to create healthy programs geared towards joyful sports fans.”
Jeremy Levine, Underdog CEO, said: “We’ve waited to build our VIP program because we want to do something very different.
“There’s no doubt Dillon is the guy to lead it. He’s got some amazing ideas I can’t wait for us to bring to life, but most important, universally everyone who knows him seemingly has reached out during our courting process to tell me how genuinely great a person he is,” he added.
Borgida’s arrival at the firm comes after Underdog launched its first-ever sports betting product in North Carolina.
The DFS firm has used the Tar Heel State as a starting point as it faces off against operator giants including DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM.
As part of its efforts to cut through the market in North Carolina, Underdog recently unveiled a new Tinder-style gamifcation feature that allows players to swipe on player props to add them to their betslips.
