DraftKings to better leverage sports data with centralized database partnership
New deal allows data to be organised more effectively for users and DraftKings analysts
DraftKings has partnered with AI-powered data catalog developer Alation Data to enable betting and DFS users to better leverage raw data.
The product lets customers operate a single, centralized database to help make their picks and better share data between each other.
In a statement, Alation revealed the catalog would also be central to assisting DraftKings analysts in finding data quickly to “facilitate rapid iteration.”
Alation CEO Satyen Sangani said: “DraftKings is the perfect example of an agile organization that is embracing a data culture by increasing collaboration and data access and driving trust in data.
“We are excited that Alation can play an important role in DraftKings’ success and in consumers’ enjoyment of their products,” Sangani said.
Paul Liberman, president of global technology and product at DraftKings, said: “Data is the lifeblood of our organization [and] we use Alation to better understand our data, improve onboarding of new employees, and empower our teams with critical insights to build better products and features for our customers.”
Alation serves a number of analytics-driven consultancy firms and business analytics platforms.
Boston-based DraftKings recently acquired sportsbook platform provider SBTech in a $3.3bn combination involving Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corp.
