DraftKings sells VSiN back to founders for undisclosed fee
Disposal comes more than three years after Boston-headquartered operator paid $70m for the sports betting network

DraftKings has sold betting radio and television channel VSiN back to Musburger Media for an undisclosed figure, three years after acquiring the platform.
DraftKings bought the network for $70m back in March 2021 to “further build out its content capabilities” according to the operator’s statement at the time.
VSiN has been delivering over 18 hours of live sports betting content daily since 2017, which was produced and distributed across digital video and audio channels in 14 states.
Shows included radio hosts Pauly Howard and Mitch Moss’ morning show Follow the Money and its roster included ex-NFL executive Michael Lombari and host of Beating the Book podcast Gill Alexander.
The Las Vegas-based network also produces news analysis and propriety data to US bettors across YouTube TV, Marquee Sports Network, and over 300 terrestrial radio stations across the US and VSiN.com.
Following the sale to Musburger Media, VSiN will be back under the leadership of Brian Musburger and Bill Adee, who were part of the team that launched and led the broadcast and content company.
In a statement on VSiN’s website, it was confirmed customers should not experience any interruptions to their programming or news coverage.
Musburger thanked DraftKings for the work done over the past three years and said the two firms will continue to work together in the future.
“While a lot has changed in the sports betting industry over the past three-and-a-half years, our original vision for VSiN still holds, and we are committed to delivering the most credible, independent information and analysis sports bettors can find anywhere.
“We truly appreciate the work we’ve done with DraftKings and look forward to continuing to collaborate on future projects.
“Bill and I couldn’t be more excited about leading VSiN into the future and cementing our position as a trusted authority in sports betting.”
Echoing Musburger’s sentiments regarding working together, DraftKings chief marketing officer Stephanie Sherman confirmed the operator will continue to advertise on VSiN’s sports betting network.
She said: “DraftKings continues to optimize its investments in content and media to align with the most critical areas and needs of our business strategy, objectives, and goals.
“We want to thank Brian, Bill, and the entire team at VSiN for a great relationship, and we look forward to continuing to advertise on the network,” Sherman added.
Following the sale, DraftKings still boasts Meadowlark Media among its media subsidiaries and announced in April it would launch a women-led sports show, Good Follow, on DraftKings Network this summer.
The purchase and sale of VSiN comes just under a year after PENN Entertainment sold Barstool Sports to back to its founder Dave Portnoy for $1, having shelled out $163m for a 36% stake in 2020 and then a further $388m for the remaining 64% for the sports media company in February 2023.
