Daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator DraftKings has bolstered its player protection protocols after announcing it has partnered with geolocation supplier GeoComply. [private]
Under the deal, GeoComply will integrate its recently-launched Solus solution into DraftKingsâ platform, providing the operator with geolocation and anti-fraud protections.
GeoComply said Solus was designed to verify player eligibility for the DraftKings site based on the playerâs current location, accurate to within 50 yards in most cases.
DraftKings COO Paul Liberman said the operator was âcommitted to the integrityâ of its product in the face of the recent data leak scandal.
âThe introduction of this new service is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that we continue to meet and exceed the increasing demands within the DFS industry, while also continuing to innovate,â he added.
GeoComply launched Solus last month, with Sportech-owned/managed DraftDay the first operator to integrate the solution into its platform.
âDraftKings is the ideal partner to help take our Solus solution to a new level of engagement and further enhance its consumer protection services via our adaptive technologies,â GeoComly CEO Anna Sainsbury said.
The partnership follows the DraftKings data leak scandal and rulings in Nevada and New York that DFS meets the definition of gambling.
Meanwhile, in Massachusetts the attorney general last week published a draft of proposed regulations aimed at establishing a framework to protect players in the state.
