DraftKings approved for Pennsylvania gaming license
Operator to enter the online casino fray alongside seven other firms including FanDuel

DraftKings was yesterday given the green light to operate a Pennsylvania (PA) online casino license and is planning to launch its app later this week.
The operator received unanimous approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) yesterday to operate alongside the other seven casino licensees.
The PGCB also allowed for the operator to extend its sports betting license for a further five years.
DraftKings launched its sportsbook in PA back in November, reporting an online betting revenue of $1.8m in FY19.
Competitor FanDuel entered the PA casino market in January and has since taken $13.1m in revenue, second only to Rush Street Interactive with $15m.
The entire Pennsylvania online casino market recorded revenue of $24.3m in March.
DraftKings is partnered with Penn National Gaming in the state and operates its sports wagering product via Meadows Racetrack and Casino.
The firm last week completed its $3.3bn three-way combination with SBTech and Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corp.
It pledged to maintain its current senior exec team with CEO Jason Robins to act as chairman for the entire group.
